Wild Dog Books is excited to be launching Possum Skin Cloak in August at The Little Book Room in Brunswick East.
Possum Skin Cloak, written by award-winning author team Aunty Fay Muir and Sue Lawson and illustrated by First Nations fine artist Leanne Jones, is a superb picture book filled with themes of family, connection and Ancestors. It celebrates the tradition of wrapping a newborn in a possum skin and adding to it over time, so that it would eventually tell the story of that person’s life.
Aunty Fay and Sue will be in attendance to discuss the writing of the book and the widespread practise of this beautiful First Nations tradition. They will also be available to sign copies of the book.
